Coral Gables Restaurant Week just ended, and Miami Spice begins in one month. So where can you find discounted prix fixes in the interim? Try the third-annual Taste of Doral. Organized by the Doral Chamber of Commerce, the event is intended to boost economic development while exposing visitors and residents alike to the food culture of the city. Besides, don't South Beach and Wynwood get enough of your love?
Participating restaurants range from local favorites to chains, including Carino's Italian, Brazaviva Churrascaria, El Arepazo 2 Venezuela Cuisine, Il Forno Ristorante, Romano's Macaroni Grill, Trattoria Dal Nonno, Divino Ceviche, Mediterranean eatery Harvest Delights, Giraffas, and Chili's Grill & Bar. Prices start at $15 for lunch and $22 for dinner and include an appetizer, entrée, and dessert.
Event organizers encourage everyone in South Florida to head to Doral to experience the community-oriented neighborhood while getting a taste of its diverse culinary landscape.
"This year the event has received tremendous support from the City of Doral," says Yvette Rodriguez, Taste of Doral coordinator. "Doral has over 200 restaurants, including a lot of mom-and-pops, and is growing all the time. With Taste of Doral, we're inviting the rest of South Florida to come and explore the area."
