The much-loved Miami chef is actually setting up two pop-ups amid the flowers this year, with completely different vibes.
The Garden Café by Michelle Bernstein will opens Monday, November 30, serving breakfast and lunch to hungry art enthusiasts. The casual restaurant will be set up with furniture from Moroso and Ruinart umbrellas and will serve a variety of fresh pastries and gourmet coffees for breakfast. The Garden Cafe offers sit-down and grab-and-go service. Items include a muffin of the day ($4), dessert of the day ($5), a savory croissant of the day ($4), a sweet croissant ($5), and cookies ($3.50). Lunch includes a menu filled with soups, sandwiches, salads, and entrées, many featuring locally-sourced ingredients. Soups include a hot carrot miso with crispy leeks ($6) and a cold Andalusian gazpacho with crunchy vegetables and croutons ($6). Salad options include a chopped Greek with romaine, tomato, cucumber, green pepper, chickpea, red onion, feta cheese, and Greek dressing ($12); a Bibb lettuce salad with jalapeño buttermilk dressing, avocados, grape tomatoes, and crispy shallots ($13); and a tomato and burrata salad featuring local ingredients ($16).

The Michy's Pop-Up will offer dinner service starting Wednesday, December 2. The pop-up will feature a daily menu, tapas, a premium bar, and an international wine list. Though reservations are required for dinner, tapas and cocktails are available for walk-ins based on availability. Dinner items at the Michy's pop-up read like a Bernstein "best of" hits list and include braised short ribs with roast root vegetables, rib jus, and shaved chayote salad ($38); fettuccine carbonara ($34); salt-crusted yellow tail snapper with Moroccan couscous ($36); and steak
Best of all? Michy's fried chicken is on the menu, served with potato purée and gravy with braised greens ($34).
Bernstein is also offering some of her favorite desserts, include deep-fried apple pie with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream ($9) and Michy's bread pudding with raisins, cognac, chocolate chunks, orange rind, and vanilla ice cream ($9).
Bernstein has also been designated the official caterer for Art Basel Miami Beach's events. The chef, who is in the middle of launching a fall-inspired menu at Cena by Michy's, says, "Art Basel's Miami Beach show is a one-of-a-kind event. There is nothing else like it with a magic uniquely its own. It helped reshape Miami into a serious cultural destination, drawing thousands hungry for art, conversation, engagement and enlightenment. We’re honored to be a part of it.”
Michy's pop-up is open for dinner from 6 to 11 p.m., Wednesday, December 2, through Saturday, December 5. Reservations are required and can by made at michyspopup.com.
The Garden Cafe will be open for breakfast, lunch and early dinner. On Monday, November 30, the hours are 1 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, December 1, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday, December 2, through Saturday, December 12, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, December 13, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Reservations are not required for the Garden Cafe.
