If you like being the first kid on your block to discover new bars, try Able + Baker, which opens today. The bar is named for the first monkeys to complete a successful space mission. There is nothing cooler than space monkeys.

Able + Baker Opens
If you're looking for a new place to drink on the Beach, try the brand-spanking-new Able + Baker. The bar, restaurant, and lounge — named after two real U.S. space monkeys — opens today, March 11. The venue offers cocktails and à la carte dining — the bar opens to a hidden restaurant in the back of the space. A + B Food & Co. is a secret room inspired by Japanese kaiseki dining. A six-course tasting menu incorporates local ingredients into the fare.
Able + Baker is located at 920 Alton Rd. in Miami Beach and is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., Thursday through Saturday from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m., and Sunday from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. A + B Food & Co. is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 6 to 11 p.m., Thursday through Saturday from 6 p.m. to midnight, and Sunday from 6 to 11 p.m.

If you were at Meatopia during the South Beach Wine & Food Festival, you might have gotten a taste of Quality Meats' house-cured slab bacon with peanut butter and jalapeño jelly that took home the peoples' choice award. If you're hungry for more (or if you want to experience it for the first time), head to the South Beach restaurant for its new two-course special. For $39 (excluding tax and gratuity), you'll have a choice of one appetizer or salad and an entrée. Start with either yellowfin tuna carpaccio with roasted beets and lemon olive oil; roasted bone marrow; kale and manchego salad with chorizo vinaigrette; tomato and stracciatella; or that house-cured slab bacon with peanut butter and jalapeño jelly. Main courses include baby-back ribs with a honey-lime sauce, fresh mint, and thai basil; petit filet mignon; blackened redfish with either chimichurri, sauce vierge, or fennel saffron; and lemon charred chicken. This special is good throughout the week, including weekends.

MTV's Real World is looking for seven more strangers to be filmed for its upcoming season. If you think you've got what it takes, head to Burger & Beer Joint in South Beach Saturday, March 12, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the Miami casting. You must be at least 21 by this June (and look between 20 and 24). Bring a recent picture (which will not be returned) and a photo ID. The Miami Leprecrawl at the Wynwood Yard
This Saturday, March 12, from noon to 9 p.m., wear your best leprechaun attire and celebrate St. Patrick's Day early at the Miami Leprecrawl at the Wynwood Yard. Fooq's Miami Anniversary
Fooq's will celebrate its first anniversary Sunday, March 13, with a Persian-inspired lunch that honors the restaurant and owner David Foulquier's Persian heritage. From noon to 3 p.m., executive chef Bryan Rojas will create a feast consisting of chicken, lamb, and vegetable khoresh (traditional Persian-style stew), along with jeweled rice tadig, dill rice and fava beans, and rice with lentils and sweet onions. Foulquier will also offer a Persian juice cocktail, specially crafted for the celebration. The meal, served family-style, costs $45 per person and includes a cocktail.
