Brother Jimmy's BBQ Opens at Dolphin Mall

If you've got a hankering for a side or party with your ribs, come out to Dolphin Mall this weekend and celebrate the grand opening of the third Brother Jimmy's BBQ in Miami-Dade. Today from 5 to 10 p.m., enjoy a live DJ and take a ride on the mechanical bull. On Saturday, June 28, the fun starts at noon with music, mechanical bull riding. Kids eat free with one adult entree purchase.There's also a kiddie fashion show at 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. and a concert with the Spam All-Stars at 10 p.m.

Pollo Tropical Grand Opening Beach Party in Hialeah

Come out to the grand opening of the new Pollo Tropical today and enjoy a day at the beach -- in Hialeah!

Doors open at 10:30 a.m. to the new restaurant, located at 7845 W. Hialeah Gardens Blvd., and if you're one of the first 100 people, you'll receive free Pollo Tropical chicken for a year. Don't worry if you get there too late, because there's a raffle at 11 a.m. for more free chicken. Dance to music provided by Y-100 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and check out the robo surfer and spin and win tent until 5 p.m. -- go on...give it a try (don't be chicken).

National Ceviche Day is Saturday -- Wish for Fish

Have you been outside yet? Summer in Miami has arrived, bringing with it 95-degree days with 100 percent humidity in the air. We don't know about you, but a huge stuffed pork chop or porterhouse with mashed potatoes just sounds too heavy about now. What does sound appealing?

The bright flavors of a good, fresh ceviche. Fresh seafood, kissed by citrus and spices is what we crave when the temperature rises. Coincidentally, tomorrow just happens to be National Ceviche Day with some of the best places in Miami celebrating with specials. Here are our five favorite spots to enjoy seafood so fresh, it just might slap you.

OTC Hosts Opus Ales -- Free Samples

Miami's home brew scene is alive and well and these talented men and women are passionate about the beer they create. Opus Ales is one of the home brewers on the scene and they'll be pouring samples of three of their finest brews this Saturday, June 28 at OTC. Starting at 7 p.m., try their Hi Ju Doin (a hibiscus juniper berry raspberry Belgian wit); the Melo-Coton (a peach Belgian wit, aged on peach wood, and the Celia Grand Cru (a cherry wood smoked Belgian dark strong ale).

This year's New Times Iron Fork/Miami Spice Kickoff, presented by the Miami Downtown Development Authority, promises to be the best one ever. On July 31, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Miami, you'll be able to sample bites from Miami's best restaurants, including Miami Spice participants so you can plan your schedule of "spicing" in advance. Plus, you'll can watch two of Miami's hottest chefs compete in a warrior-style battle for the ultimate bragging rights of being crowned Miami's Iron Fork! Edge Steak & Bar's Aaron Brooks will face Haven's Todd Erickson in this battle of fire and grit and you've got to be there to witness the carnage!

Do you have your tickets? Better get on that quick, because tickets for this 21-and-over event are only $45 for general admission and $75 for VIP and are available through ticketfly.com. But hurry, because prices increase June 30 -- and you don't want to miss this epic battle!
