Mother's Day is this Sunday, May 11. It's payback time. Payback for all the laundry and cleaning. Payback for the meals she made for your lazy self. Payback for those twenties she peeled out of her wallet to help pay your electric bill -- after you were way too old to ask for allowance.
She did all of that and more, so you can at least buy her a fancy brunch and some mimosas. Here's a guide to some favorite brunch spots that are devoting the day to mom. Some have flowers; some have champagne. All are worthy of everyone's favorite person. Note: Reservations are strongly suggested, and tip and tax are generally not included.
Treat mom to a beachside buffet with all the trimmings like a raw bar; lamb chops and prime rib; a designer egg station; and assorted goodies. $49 for adults, $21 for kids. For an additional $10, drink all the champagne, mimosas, bellinis, and bloody marys you want.
Treat mom to a swanky brunch at Azul. Highlights include bottomless champagne cocktails and special wine pairings; seafood displays with oysters, stone crabs, and lobster salad; and elegant seafood selections such as Florida grouper with yuzu kosho and pan-roasted halibut with orange coulis. Brunch is served from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and costs $115 for adults and $45 for children 12 and younger.
Take mom to the new Balans at Dadeland Mall and she'll enjoy a complimentary glass of prosecco and a free dessert. Breakfast and brunch are offered from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and menu items include French toast topped with fresh strawberries and bananas, smoked salmon Benedict, and bang bang chicken salad. Hope mom has room for her free dessert. Options include dark and white chocolate lava cake with mint chocolate chip ice cream; thin apple tart with apple brandy caramel and salted toffee ice cream; bread pudding with rum-soaked raisins and crème anglaise; and a fruit plate with champagne sorbet.
Batch begins its Sunday brunch service on Mother's Day, so take mom out for doughnut waffles, giant cinnamon buns, and short-rib 'n' duck hash. Mom can also enjoy $10 bottomless mimosas, bellinis, basil strawberry red sangria, and fresh peach or orange juice carbonated white sangria.
Moms will enjoy a special brunch with fresh quiche, grilled local fish, and homemade lasagna and meatballs. Italian desserts seal the deal. Want to capture the moment? A photographer will be on hand to treat mom like a celebrity. $75 per person includes a glass of sangria; servd from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Take mom to Bocce Bar and she'll be lavished with complimentary bouquets of rose-, violet-, and lavender-flavored marshmallows. Mom will also be celebrated with a special raspberry cocktail. A special buffet includes an antipasti table, an omelet station, and an assortment of house-made pastries. Brunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and costs $34 per adult and $15 per child. Unlimited prosecco for $15 additional.
Chef/owner Alberto Cabrera will offer Bread + Butter's delicious à la carte brunch, along with $16 bottomless "chismosas" (guava mimosas), plus a complimentary pastelito bar, featuring housemade versions of Cuban classics. Brunch items ($5 to $15) include homemade maduro plantain-pecan bread with salted butter; ropa vieja hash; and fried chicken and biscuits with cheddar cheese and bacon gravy. Brunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Both Brother Jimmy's locations offer mom free mimosas to go with her monkey bread; banana-Jameson-infused French toast; and fried chicken and waffles.
Complimentary "mom-mosas" will be served during brunch, and à la carte items include eggplant rollatini ($14), short-rib risotto ($14 appetizer, $28 entrée), and ravioli porcini ($21).
The restaurant opens at 11:45 a.m. to celebrate stylish moms with a special five-course prix fixe. Items include 24-month aged San Daniele prosciutto with marinated pears and shaved Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese or Andria buffalo mozzarella with heirloom tomatoes and aged Modena balsamic vinegar. Second course options include a choice of baby arugula salad with Sicilian orange wedges, shaved fennel, Piedmont hazelnut, ricotta salata, and champagne vinaigrette or organic heirloom tomato with fresh oregano, Ligurian extra-virgin olive oil, and sweet Tropea onion. For the third course, choose between Paccheri with organic cherry tomatoes and Andria burrata or ravioli stuffed with pears and goat cheese in a butter sage sauce. Fourth-course options are organic veal scaloppine with portobello mushrooms and aged port wine or pan-roasted corvina "Livornese style," with lemon, caper, and fresh artichoke sauce. Dessert options include authentic Italian-style tiramisu or panna cotta. Cost is $65 per person.
Take mom to brunch at one of the restaurants at CocoWalk; then let her get pampered at Mommy Make-Over Day. From 3 to 7 p.m., moms can get free makeovers, listen to live entertainment, and sip complimentary wine. Raffles for spa days, cooking classes, and restaurant gift certificates will be held.
Treat your schmancy mom to a Spring-themed brunch featuring a three-course fixed menu. Items include Spring pea salad (crispy egg, Mangalica Ham, and Pecorino); ricotta gnudi (fennel, hen of the woods, and nettle) and strawberry millefeuille (caramelized phyllo dough, key lime coulis, and strawberry sorbet). Mother's Day buffet brunch includes carving and omelet stations, fresh seafood, made-to-order Belgian waffles, and desserts. The Mother's Day brunch menu will be served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and costs $32 per adult and $15 per child ages 5 to 12; tax and gratuity are not included.
Treat mom to a special French toast at the Dadeland hotspot. Adorned with apples and salted caramel sauce, it's sweets for the sweet. She'll also recieve a free glass of sparkling wine. Sunday brunch served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Mom can enjoy a Wakin-N-Bacon brunch featuring items such as carbonara eggs Benedict; Cuban bread French toast; and chicken 'n' foie-ffles with maple bacon and spicy ranch. Surprise freebies for mom are also planned. Brunch will be served from noon to 5 p.m. Reservations are strongly suggested, and cancellations must be made 72 hours in advance.
Celebrate with a family-style boozy brunch, priced at $39 per person, with an option of $19 endless mimosas or a $25 bottomless bar. Starters include a baker's basket with assorted mini pastries, morning skinny dip with "secret spiced" homemade chips, and the Queen's deviled eggs with smoked trout, breakfast radish, and zesty egg cream. Then choose two main items per person from selections such as wing 'n' waffle, lobster 'n' eggs, shrooms 'n' grits, cab toast, pig in a blanket, smoked BBQ brisket 'n' egg, or banana chia pudding before finishing up with cookies 'n' cream French toast and Oreo crumble with ricotta whipped cream, chocosauce, and maple syrup. Brunch will be served from 10:30 a.m.to 3:30 p.m. Three-dollar valet parking is offered.
Celebrate a rare brunch at the Forge with an all-inclusive prix fixe that includes items such as smoked salmon with citrus fennel salad; beef carpaccio BLT; surf 'n' turf Benedict; shrimp 'n' grits; and special Mother's Day macarons. Brunch costs $75 for adults and $35 for kids under 12.

Mother's day specials include a house-made salmon gravlax benedict, served on warm dill buttermilk biscuits and chocolate ricotta pancakes. Mom can have her choice of unlimited mimosas ($20) or one of two Mother's Day cocktails, the sparkling pomegranate rose cooler or the ruby red ginger mimosa.
Moms get a free glass of prosecco with their a la carte brunch. Choode from duck hash and fried duck egg; coconut crusted French toast, blueberry pancakes, and more.

A three-course Mother's Day tasting menu for brunch includes a variety of offerings (even vegetarian). Dessert offerings include a pineapple upside-down cake. $40 per person; served from noon - 4 p.m.
