James Beard Award Winners
The award for best new restaurant went to Momofuku Ko in New York, not Miami's Sra. Martinez, edged out by comic value points for the name Momofuku.
Best Chef South went to John Currence from City Grocery in Oxford, Mississippi. One of the dishes on his menu is "microgreens with grapefruit and lardons."HAHAHA lardons. Michael Schwartz and Douglas Rodriguez walk away beardless.
All the chefs are probably up there having a good time doing whatever it is chefs do when there's a whole bunch of them together in New York City. Sounds like the start of a wacky 80's movie.
