Nicole Hirtle is the striking blond bartender at LIV nightclub at the Fontainebleau Hotel on Miami Beach. The 27-year-old Boston native pours a strong vodka and cranberry from the mezzanine level bar, where she is surrounded by celebrities, socialites and DJ devotees. Not only does she do high volume business, but Nicole enjoys the scene, especially on nights when DJ Vice is spinning.
What is the sexiest drink at LIV?
Any drink I make you is sexy because I'm sexy.
What is your favorite cocktail?
My drink is a Ketel citron and soda. My shot is Grand Marnier. My beer is Blue Moon. However, it's not the best aftermath when they are all mixed together. Not that I would know that.
You are in a high-volume bar. Can you connect with the customers?
It's obviously challenging when it's extremely loud and everyone is fighting for your attention. But, yes, it is possible. When you get too busy for actual conversation, eye contact, a wink and a smile go a long way.
Describe the scene at LIV.
LIV is one of the most amazing clubs I've seen in my years of working and partying, which I am a pro at. There are constant celebrity sightings and performances, and the sexy clientele it attracts. I've been there for over a year now and I still look around and think, "wow." If you've been to LIV, you understand. And if you haven't, you are missing out.
Who have been some of your favorite DJs to come through LIV?
DJ Vice is my favorite. The energy he brings throughout the entire venue is amazing and we, the staff, get excited whenever he comes. Another favorite is Erick Morillo. I'm not really a house music person, but he just brings it to another level.
How do you recover after a long night at LIV?
A shower, glass of wine and about 12 hours of sleep.
