A new food truck, Gyromaniakz, will roll for the first time tonight after several false starts and delays. The truck looks like a cross between a classic Greek diner coffee cup (the ones that read, "It's Our Pleasure to Serve You") and the aftermath of a graffiti tagging session. It will feature interesting twists on Greek food. Gyros ($7) in your choice of chicken or rib eye steak will be stuffed with tzatziki, pickled red onions, tomatoes, and Greek fries.
Tacos ($2.50) get new life when they're stuffed with moussaka (ground beef, eggplant, and Parmesan bechamel) and falafel sliders ($2.50) offer bite-size food for vegetarians. Other items include Greek salad on a pita ($5) and freshly made baklava bread pudding served with vanilla bean ice cream and bourbon caramel sauce.
Gyromaniakz will be at Cauley Square from 5:30 to 10 p.m. The food truck party features a beer and wine garden, art galleries, antique shops, and live music. Trucks include Aaron's Catering Express, Clarabelle's Cupcakes, Kona Ice, the MexZican Gourmet, El Rincón del Coquí, Wing Commander, and Yellow Submarine. 22400 Old Dixie Hwy., Miami
