Don't get too excited -- it's only one piece per customer. But free is free, and Pollo Campero's fried chicken is marinated with lime and orange juices, red bell peppers, and a special blend of Latin herbs and spices. It is "Flavor You Can't Campero."

Didn't know that? Exactly. Which is why the chicken chain is offering you a taste all day, Thursday, October 7, for dine-in, take-out, or drive-through customers. It is being held in conjunction with Hispanic Heritage Month; Pollo Campero is, after all, the world's largest Latin chicken restaurant chain: 85 million customers served each year at more than 300 restaurants in 12 countries around the globe.

This is the second annual chicken giveaway, but Adam Cummis, president

of Levy Campero, has added a donation aspect to the 2010 event: "As a

thank you to our loyal patrons, this year we will match the amount of

free chicken distributed and provide an equal amount of chicken to the

Camillus House in Miami-Dade and the Soup Kitchen in Boynton Beach."

Pollo Campero also works with Make-A-Wish Foundation and St. Jude

Hospital.

The three participating Pollo Campero restaurants within driving range

are located at: 2800 SW 8th St, Miami; 18660 South Dixie Highway,

Cutler Bay; 750 North Congress Avenue, Boynton Beach.
