Food Truck Fundraiser for Local Hialeah Boy Tonight at Westland Mall
Food Cart USA is sponsoring a food truck fundraising event at Westland Mall tonight from 6 to 10 p.m. to benefit a local boy fighting Stage Three Burkett's Lymphoma, a rare and aggressive cancer.
Orly Salvat, 7, was diagnosed with Lymphoma back in May at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. "Little Orly," as he's called, is the son of Hialeah SWAT Officer, Lt. Orlando Salvat.
Tonight's food truck fundraiser, organized in part by the Hialeah Police Department, will help the family afford Orly's medical expenses. Trucks are donating $75 each to participate, as well as a portion of their proceeds.
Additionally, Westland Mall has pledged to donate $1 for every person who becomes a "fan" of its Facebook page (today only).
