From Black Friday through Sunday,

Angelique Euro Cafe, in Coral Gables, will offer what they're

calling a "Turkey Detox Weekend Brunch." Chef LeRoy

Bautista's a la carte offerings are limited, but you can try a Belgian waffle ($10) that

comes one of three ways: Nutella and seasonal berries, peanut butter

and banana, or Ghiradelli chocolate & caramel sauce with

hand-whipped cream.

Then there are grits ($12) which are are touted as creamy, buttery white hominy topped with guest's choice of a poached or scrambled egg. The Creole grits come with sauteed shrimp and are finished with roasted pepper and tomato sauce. Red eye grits are filled with chopped apple-wood bacon and topped with a poached egg. The Parisian grits are filled with chopped French ham and brie.

Then there are the benedicts ($16)

served over baby arugula and a herb buttermilk biscuit with

hollandaise, patatas bravas, and guest's choice of poached or

scrambled egg. The Norwegian benedict comes with smoked salmon. The

Angelique benedict is with slow-cooked pulled pork, roasted peppers,

and tomato. The osso bucco benedict comes with braised lamb in red

wine and herb jus. The canard benedict is with roasted duck, sundried

tomatoes, Herbes de Provence, and white wine. The Barcelona benedict

is with char-grilled Spanish pepino chorizo.

Although limitless, the mimosas are $14 -- maybe out of touch with

competitive pricing. While the verdict is still out on the value to

be had with the Belgian waffles and grits, the Eggs Benedicts offer an

intriguing lineup that could make Angelique's an under-the-radar

brunch spot this weekend.

Reservations are strongly suggested. And

the hours are from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., this Friday to Sunday only.
