For kids, trick or treating is a no brainer. Show up at people's houses in hastily assembled costumes, get free candy. Simple. But as grown ups, what do we get for donning a disguise every October 31st? A hefty tab at the local bar's Halloween shindig, most likely.

But as it turns out, some local businesses are extending the trick or treat spirit to big(ger) kids in costume. So if you're not shy about strutting your stuff in that sexy zombie getup -- you could score big.

Short Order compiled the following round up of local haunts serving up sweets (and savories) in celebration -- no cheesy plastic pumpkin required.

Sweetness Bakeshop
Local treat factory Sweetness Bakeshop is offering a free cookie or cupcake to adults (and kids) in costume. From a joint that just made Food & Wine's list of America's Best New Cupcakes - this offer's too sweet (ha) to pass up.

Krispy Kreme
Krispy Kreme locales are offering a free Halloween or pumpkin spice donut to anyone in costume. Bonus points if you show dressed as Homer Simpson.

Chipotle
And everyone's favorite healthy Mexican haunt, Chipotle, is doling out $2 burritos, bowls, salads or orders of tacos from 4 p.m. to close for anyone in costumed garb. This one's even for charity. Proceeds from this "Boorito" promo go to The Chipotle Cultivate Foundation.

So pull a getup together, and get to trick or treating. It's only once a year, after all.
