8. Guava Balls at Sweetness Bakeshop
Although Sweetness (SW 95th Avenue and Sunset Drive) is known for its wide variety of cupcakes, including the popular Maple Bacon flavor, the guava balls are unlike any other dessert we've tasted. The center tastes like chewy, almost-raw, cake and is covered with a delicious icing. The guava is just sweet enough, without being overpowering. Topped with a cube of guava paste, this cute confection is the right size and the right price ($1.25).
