  • Jacob's Ladder Heading to the Studio Later This Week, Then On Another National Tour

The local progressive/rock/whatever trio Jacob's Ladder just does not stop. The last time we checked in with these 23-year-olds, just this past May, they were debuting some new tracks and setting off on a national tour through New England and the South. Well, one national summer tour is not enough for this band, so Jacob's Ladder is hitting the road again -- but not before hitting the studio. On Thursday, they'll head to the Dungeon to record a new EP, produced by Cyrus Bolooki of New Found G

  • Video: Cyrus Bolooki of New Found Glory Talks About His Band's Upcoming New Video

Last week I dropped in on Jacobs Ladder at the Dungeon recording studio in North Miami Beach, where they were working on a new EP. (Pictures and video are coming later this week.) The producer on the project is Cyrus Bolooki, drummer of Coral Springs' biggest pop-punk exports, New Found Glory. Although he lives in South Florida again, he had just returned on a red-eye from a marathon video shoot with his band in L.A. Here he is talking about the concept for that video, for the song "Don't Let

  • In the Studio With Jacobs Ladder, at the Dungeon, North Miami Beach

Clockwise, L-R: Producer Cyrus of NFG, engineer Ryan of Capsule, Oren of Jacobs Ladder (mostly hidden), Sammy of Jacobs LadderI stopped by the old standby Dungeon recording studio in North Miami Beach last week to visit local trio Jacobs Ladder, who were working steadily and meticulously on a new five-song EP. Some people think a rock band's recording session at a pro studio is some kind of wild party. It's not. Studios are actually quite relaxing in their tomb-like silence, thanks to all tha

Summer is finally over! The insufferable heat finally broke this weekend and its officially fall in South Florida. Yes, we didn't turn on our AC all weekend and we couldn't be more excited. • Dashboard Confessional Postpones Tour; Show with NFG at Pompano Beach on Nov. 27 is Off

The upcoming national outing headlined by New Found Glory and Dashboard Confessional was going to be a showcase of '90s Broward and Palm Beach County heroes made good. But this past Friday, Dashboard had to suddenly drop off the tour, which was scheduled to land locally at Pompano Beach Amphitheater on November 27. And with Dashboard off, the whole tour -- which was also to feature much younger acts like Never Shout Never, Meg & Dia, and Single File -- is also off. Here's a statement from
