For hardcore Morrissey fans, especially those of us in South Florida, 2007 was somewhat emotionally tumultuous. First, he played an amazing summer show here, in support of Ringleader of the Tormenters -- good (in spite of the cruel heat). Except the show was at the Mizner Park Amphitheatre in Boca -- bad if you live in Miami or South Broward, or are severely allergic to concerts held in outdoor malls. Then, Moz announced he would, that fall, embark on his last tour ever "for the foreseeable futu

It's time to rank the best of what went around and came around again. BILLY JOEL The Stranger (Columbia/Legacy) As punk and disco exploded, the Piano Man's deeply unhip 1978 breakthrough proved that top-shelf Broadway/Brill Building songwriting could still sell - and, occasionally, rock. "Scenes From an Italian Restaurant" and "Anthony's Song (Movin' Out)" remain priceless snapshots of Annie Hall-era NYC, the title track bares real teeth, and the Kenny Chesney fave "Only the Good Die Young"

  • And Even More Freestyle: Q&A With Sa-Fire

Sa-Fire is the singer of the memorable Freestyle hits "Don't Break My Heart" and "Boy, I've Been Told."José el Rey: Sa-Fire, thanks for being right on time! What are you up to?Sa-Fire: I'm always very punctual. If you're ever late, you might miss a great opportunity. My new single "Exotique" is number one on Masterbeat! Are you going to perform this new jam in Miami?Yeah! Hopefully, Miami will embrace it. It's very house, very sensual. It has gone over incredible! • New School Punk Goodness From A Wilhelm Scream, Thursday at Churchill's

photo by Cindy FreyA cross between the melodic punk of Lawrence Arms and the churning hardcore of Rise Against, A Wilhelm Scream combines a high quotient of both heft and hooks. Original drummer Nicholas Pasquale Angelini is the beast's backbone, driving tempo like Jeff Gordon, and keying a thick bottom end worthy of J.Lo. Atop them sit the dueling guitars and singer Nuno Pereira's vocals, veering from plaintive croon to angry roar. It's a sturdy package boasting a heavyweight punch and the m

  • Pig Is Good Party at Harvey's: The Name Says It All

via WikicommonsBehold! The Grandeur! As Morrissey said, "Meat is Murder." Tasty, tasty murder. And as we all now, in the beginning, after God warmed up by making man and woman, he set his sights on creating a truly perfect creature--the pig. For what part of the Great and Holy Pig is not tasty?Hoofs? Tasty. Tail? Tasty. Nose? Tasty. If the finger-wagging, Vegan Right-wing is correct and humans were not meant to barbecue ribs, roast pork chops, and fry bacon, then why did God make these things so
