  • File Under "Ass Beating"

Old photo, same result Ah, the resurrected Miami Hurricanes football program. Ranked in the top 25 again! Headed to the ACC title game! Unable to stop some one-legged homeless guy from Atlanta from busting off a 15-yard run! There are many ways to prove that the AP voters have overranked your team. But it takes a special group of young men to bitch-slap voters in the face by giving up 475 yards of rushing to a so-so Georgia Tech team in a 41-23 meltdown on national television. Bye-bye ACC t

  • 2009 Canes Football Schedule Unveiled

Unlike last year, when the Hurricanes got to play the Ponytown High School Flag Football Fightin' Sad Clowns, or whatever that no-name team was, to kick of their season, next season they'll start things off with their oldest rivals, FSU, in Tallahassee. As previously reported, we'll also be playing three other Florida schools, which let's hope, should be three easy wins: Away games at UCF and USF and a home game against FAMU. Which basically means, "Hell, yeah, the FAMU marching band is coming

  • Canes Need a Winning Streak, Starting with FSU

After a series of heartbreaking overtime losses, the Canes have fallen to 4-7 in ACC play and desperately need to rack up a few more conference wins to keep those NCAA tourney hopes alive. The good news for UM is that the remaining ACC teams left to play are more than beatable. Tonight at 7, the Canes will play rival FSU in Tallahassee, after beating the team earlier in the season. The Seminoles are coming off of their worst loss of the season against Wake Forest, and a loss by either might dama

  • Canes Falter in ACC Tournament

Being a Hurricanes fan is a bit tough at the moment, but there's always baseball. Oh, there will always be the baseball team. One of the greatest programs in college baseball are perennial contenders, but things haven't worked out that well this year. A 36-20 record is nothing to sneeze at, but it's a far cry from last years showing when the Canes won their first ever conference championship and went into the NCAA tournament ranked number one. But for a team that graduated a

  • Canes Debut on AP Poll at 20, FSU Knocked Off

The AP poll is out, and the Miami Hurricanes are a ranked team once again, while the Florida State Seminoles have been totally knocked off from their former 18th spot. Meanwhile, the Hurricanes' next three opponents line up one after another in the poll, with Oklahoma at 13, Virginia Tech at 14, and Georgia Tech at 15. Of course, the Florida Gators remain on top after an easy 62-3 toppling of Charleston Southern. [ESPN: AP Poll]
