  • Rating Zagat Miami 2009

The 2009 Zagat Miami/South Florida Guide was just released -- the Miami portion edited by New Times contributor Bill Citara. Here are some impressions: Michy’s On Top For Food With 28 Rating You can’t argue with this -- or, more to the point, you can argue with this, and every other selection. But by any measure, Ms. Bernstein’s restaurant has to be considered one of Miami’s very finest. Oishi The Biggest Surprise Oishi Thai, tucked away on Biscayne and 146th Street, scored a 29 foo

A real case of shatterproof, reusable, recylceable -- not to mention elegant -- plastic dopplegangers awaits you, for $11.99 per 4 pack.  The picky people policing the New York Times home section seem to agree.  And can you really trust partygoers in the summer spirit with your $15 a pop Riedels?&nbs

  • Weekly Wrap Up - The Friday Limbaugh

Jacob Katel What you know bout the Rush Limbaugh Diet Some people just don't know when to shut up. They talk when they're getting paid to, they talk when they're not, they talk in the car, to their dog, on their phones, at the bank, during movies, over the airport lady when you're trying to catch a flight. They talk in their sleep, to themselves, on the bus, on the streets, over bullhorns, megaphones, and microphones. They talk so much, you don't care what they say. Good thing Short Order

Jackie SayetEven the garnish is a star at EOSWe've come to expect high quality ingredients and technique in fine dining kitchens around town, so why shouldn't the same principle be applied behind the bar?  It is now thanks to a new focus on natural spirits, supporting mixers and special touches, as well as precision in drink-making.  We checked out Fratelli Lyon Driade and EOS, two establishments who are taking this mission to heart.

  • Miami Food Scene Is Stalled

For a while there, when Michy's, Michael's, Fratelli Lyon, North One 10, Pacific Time 2 and Red Light were all newish news, it looked as though Miami was on its way to becoming a cool food town -- the sort with a community of chefs who open restaurants that reflect their vision, and that, taken together, form a gastronomic montage of the tastes and cultures of the city. But at this point, it appears to have been just a temporary surge by a group of brave and seasoned chefs. Miami's cur
