Miami has long been considered the place where restaurant service comes to die. It seems that still holds true. According to the recently released Zagat 2010 Miami/So. Florida Survey, 77 percent of diners cite service as the number one restaurant complaint. Slightly better news is that 26 percent say they've noticed an improvement in service since the economic downturn.

Asked to rate the overall dining scene on Zagat's 0-30 scale, Miami restaurants scored just 17 for table availability and -- this is the embarrassing number -- 13 for hospitality. In this guidebook's numerology, that's a terrible grade. The Zagat folks say there's "lots of room for improvement," which we'll consider one of the great understatements of 2009.
