So all that chow chow about Yardbird flying off to Vegas for a fling is true. 50 Eggs confirmed that Yardbird Southern Table & Bar is opening a location at the Venetian Las Vegas some time early 2015.
The restaurant will share much of the same menu and Southern charm, but with a little more space -- and flash. After all, Las Vegas could be the only place on the planet to be even more glittery than South Beach.

With that in mind, expect 8,000 square feet of space for that Yardbird to spread her wings, with a restaurant designed by 50 Eggs' in-house design team in cooperation with Parts and Labor Design. Seating 180 guests, Yardbird (the Sin City edition) will house two private coops dining rooms, an expansive bar, and a special on-site ice room where mixologists will "harvest" hand-cut blocks custom-made for each cocktail.
That specialized ice program and oversized bar area will lead itself to an expanded cocktail and spirits program. We envision many, many high rollers purchasing endless rounds of Pappy Van Winkle. In addition, Yardbird-west will offer an exclusive ice cream program.
50 Eggs' John Kunkel explains his plans for this bigger bird. "The larger space is definitely giving us extra room to play. The menu and bar programs will feature many of our hallmarks, including our outstanding brunch and signature guest chef series, as well as a number of singular elements. Our goal is for Yardbird to stand out from its neighbors, both in- and outside of the Venetian itself."
Yardbird will share the Venetian's restaurant row with quite the lineup. Other restaurants at the expansive resort include B&B Ristorante by Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich; Thomas Keller's Bouchon; and db Brasserie by Chef Daniel Boulud.
