Starting at 8 p.m. TONIGHT, Blue Door at Delano (305-674-6400) will host a five-course wine dinner pairing the cuisine of Delano's executive chef Maria Manso and consulting chef Claude Troisgros with wines from Silverado Winery. Here's the lineup:
First course: Crabavocat, Guacamole & Blue Crab Salad with Spicy Tomato Coulis & Crispy Shrimp paired with Silverado Sauvignon Blanc, Miller Ranch 2008 Single Vineyard
Second course: Pan Seared Chilean Sea Bass with Grilled Asparagus, Micro Greens & Beurre Blanc paired with Silverado Chardonnay Vineberg, Single Vineyard 2006.
Third: Roasted Duck Breast with Gala Apples Braised Chicory Endives paired with Silverado Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa 2005, and Grilled Filet of Beef Medallion with Maytag Blue Cheese & Roasted Garlic Crust, Potato Gallette & Haricot Vert paired with Silverado "Solo" Cabernet, Single Vineyard 2005.
Dessert: Warm Peach Caramel Bread Pudding served with Cinnamon Spiced Ice Cream & Vanilla Anglaise paired with Royal Tokaji.

This Saturday, July 25, Dewey LoSasso and his crew at North One10 will be hosting "Out Of Africa", a 4-course dinner accompanied by South African wines.
First course:Crayfish bisque. served with Sauvignon Republic Stellenbosch.
Second
course:Grilled river trout with mealie spoon bread, served with Glen
Carlou Chardonnay. (Maybe by Saturday they'll figure out how to make a
spoon bread that isn't mealie.).
Third course:Boneless lamb shank in pastry, with barley and ostrich bobotie, served with Neil Ellis The Left Bank.
Dessert:Citrus tart with dates and honey, with rooibos tea.
Cost
is $48, non-inclusive of tax and tip. Reception starts at 7:30 p.m.,

Cacao Restaurant's
(305-445-1001) wine soiree will be hosted by esteemed local sommelier
Richard DiGiacomo. The 4-course meal takes place Wednesday, July 29th,
at 7:30 p.m.
The menu starts with tangerine-corvina ceviche
accompanied by a glass of San Rafael Reserva Sauvignon Blanc Valle del
Maule 2008.
