Valentine's Day Miami 2017 Dining Guide

Not only are there prix-fixe options, but many spots are also offering fun alternatives to the traditional romantic dinner for two. Think wine-and-chocolate pairings and heart-shaped pizzas. Almost every eatery in the area is offering a special menu for the evening, so make your reservations and enjoy.

Valentine's Day is less than a week away, and restaurants are getting ready for masses of romantic couples making reservations to canoodle over dinner and drinks.

Not only are there prix-fixe options, but many spots are also offering fun alternatives to the traditional romantic dinner for two. Think wine-and-chocolate pairings and heart-shaped pizzas. Almost every eatery in the area is offering a special menu for the evening, so make your reservations and enjoy. (Prices do not include tax and tip unless noted.)

15th & Vine Bar

15th & Vine
With stunning views of downtown Miami, 15th & Vine offers a prix fixe ($85 per person) of scallops, tandoori chicken wings, risotto, oven-baked grouper, New York strip, and more. The meal also includes a glass of champagne.

American Social
The Brickell location of American Social is spicing up its weekly Taco Tuesday for Valentine’s Day. Couples can indulge in the restaurant’s bottomless self-serve taco bar, bottomless guacamole, and two margaritas for $44.95 from 6 to 10 p.m. The all-you-can-eat buffet comes with chicken, shrimp, ropa vieja, and toppings such as cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, corn salsa, pico de gallo, and cilantro.

On Saturday, February 11, guests can also celebrate with “Be My (Ketel) One and Only” specials featuring $150 bottles of Ketel and rosé and $7 Ketel One drinks all night long. For the ladies, complimentary champagne will be served from 9 to 10 p.m.. For reservations, call 305-223-7004.

Artisan Beach House at The Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour
Executive chef Paula DaSilva is offering a three-course Valentine’s Day menu for $185 per couple, including a complimentary glass of champagne for each. Start with sashimi of blue fin tuna and avocado puree with a burst of finger lime, sweet nuts, and spicy chili oil. Then choose a sharing portion of either 32 oz. dry aged cowboy with creamy polenta, charred asparagus and truffle butter or olive oil poached red snapper with marble potatoes, crème fraiche, and caviar. End with a roasted fig crostafa with local honey ice cream.

Bakehouse Brasserie
Paris, the City of Love, couldn't get any closer. If you're not looking for a full, sit-down meal but something a little more playful and fun, try a French chocolate-and-wine pairing curated by pastry Chef Tatiana Vernot at Bakehouse Brasserie. The tasting costs $30 per couple the day before Valentine's Day, February 13, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The Bazaar by José Andrés
The Bazaar by José Andrés at SLS South Beach will offer the "Love Experience," with a prix fixe starting at $95 per person. The meal includes a creative first course, a second course, and dessert options. Menu highlights are smoked oysters with caviar, sea bass, ricotta gnocchi, and caviar cones.

Bazaar Mar
The restaurant will offer a prix fixe starting at $125 per person. It includes José’s Asian taco Ibérico bellota ham; cured hamachi; Osetra caviar; cobia ceviche “rosé” of leche de tigre, nasturtium leaf, sweet potato, and corn nuts; Ibérico pork meatballs and baby squid stew from the heart of Catalonia; and chocolate soufflé for dessert.

Beaker & Gray
Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a prix-fixe menu for $85 per person or $110 per person complete with cocktail pairings. Start with a choice of English pea soup with snow crab, black truffle,  and yuzu or farmer greens with rock shrimp, candied pistachio and Mandarin chili. Main course is your choice of short rib with butternut squash, shiso, and pickled ginger or queen snapper with winter squash, sunchokes and tomato water. For dessert choose between strawberry short cake or a chocolate tart.

Bird & Bone

Chef Richard Hales offers a family-style, Southern-inspired meal. The prix fixe ($85) includes daily oyster on the half-shell, little gem wedge salad, Nashville hot sweetbread, bone-in rib eye, and a chocolate jar.

Bulla Gastrobar
February 8 through 20, the Spanish gastrobar offers a special Valentine’s Day-inspired market menu for dinner at both the Coral Gables and Doral locations. The menu is à la carte and offers en las nubes de ibérico (bread with bellota ham), the Lady and the Tramp (homemade Spanish truffle spaghetti), pasiones (wild king prawns tartare), los amantes de teruel (guinea hen), flores y salmon (salmon-and-goat-cheese-stuffed zucchini blossoms), and an Apple of my Eye cocktail. Prices range from $12 to $30.

Byblos
Miami Beach’s Mediterranean hot spot is offering a prix fixe starting at $85 per person. Highlights include grass-fed steak tartare with argon aioli and garlic chips; Key West pink shrimp with pickled fresnos and preserved lemon; black truffle pide with buffalo mozzarella, halloumi, and tartufata; and local snapper with chemen marinade. Guests can splurge with Byblos’ prix-fixe wine-pairing menu, starting at $65 per person, which includes a prosecco toast and four-course wine pairing.
The Continental
The Continental will feature a three-course tasting menu, including two glasses of champagne, for $65 per couple. Guests are invited to dine in the retro dining room or take a seat on the candlelit terrace while enjoying a selection of specialties including burrata and berries, chicken tacos, Baja-style branzino, Korean barbecue lettuce wraps, jerk chicken, roasted heirloom carrots, and roasted squash. An interactive chocolate fondue caps off the meal.

DB Bistro Moderne
The French bistro is offering a four-course menu by chef Clark Bowen. Enjoy kampachi crudo, sunchoke agnolotti, and Dover sole alongside an optional wine pairing curate by head sommelier Haunah Klein. The romantic prix fixe ($95) will be served in the elegant main dining room and includes an optional wine pairing for $50. Guests who prefer to order from the restaurant's regular à la carte menu can enjoy this option in the DB Bar & Lounge.

The Dutch
A four-course Valentine’s Day dinner for $95 per person includes a  shared seafood platter with half a dozen oysters, Maine lobster salad, Florida pink shrimp, little neck clams, and corvina ceviche followed by truffle risotto with Perigord black truffles and grana padano. Entrees include a choice of bone-in Manhattan steak with rustic potatoes and spicy pimento aioli or steamed red snapper in a spiced lobster broth with crispy yucca. For dessert,  there's Gripper’s chocolate grail with chocolate and passion fruit, caramelized banana, and meringue or bourbon bread pudding with candied almonds, vanilla ice cream,  and dulce de leche donuts. Epicure Gourmet Market
Customers can choose items from Epicure’s award-winning cheese department, sommelier-curated wine and champagne cellar, a premium caviar section, and a seasonal bakery offering artisanal cakes, cookies, and pies. Don't forget the flowers. Patrons can also pick up a hand-crafted bouquet of freshly cut blooms from the floral department.

Gianni’s at the Villa
In addition to offering the regular à la carte menu, Gianni’s will serve aphrodisiac items such as Florida pumpkin-and-white-truffle bisque, and oysters with chili mignonette and shaved jalapeño to start. Entrées include coffee-dusted Chateaubriand for two with pine-nut-and-arugula pesto, and olive-oil-marinated Bella Farms duck breast with caramelized figs, cherry demi-glace, and three-cheese potato au gratin. The meal will end with chocolate Nutella lava cake with strawberry cremeux and a chai tea crème brûlée with cinnamon foam. There will also be live entertainment throughout the evening.

Glass & Vine
For $70, couples can enjoy seafood fideos(for two) with seafood, broken pasta, fava beans, asparagus, and tomato butter. For reservations call 305-200-5268.

Halves & Wholes
This Valentine's Day,  Halves & Wholes will serve its favorite Wynwood Parlour ice-cream sandwiches in the shape of hearts. Stop by for lunch and grab a little love for only $5.

Il Mulino New York Acqualina Resort & Spa
The renowned classic Italian eatery located in the Sunny Isles’ five-star oceanfront hotel, is offering a four-course dinner on Valentine’s Day ($200 per person).  Guests will enjoy their choice of burrata, tomato with balsamic glaze; Caesar salad; rucola, baby arugula with olive oil and fresh lemon topped with shaved aged parmesan cheese; or zuppa ortolana. The second course offers four pasta choices including penne all’arrabiata, spicy marinara sauce with garlic and basil; Il Mulino New York’s signature ravioli ai porcini bathed in a champagne truffle cream sauce; gnocchi truffle with a butter sage sauce; or risotti funghi, assorted wild mushrooms with a touch of black truffle. Entrees include grilled salmon served with porcini mushrooms sautéed in light garlic and olive oil over broccoli rabe; langostino served with sautéed spinach; piccatta di pollo al limone sautéed in a white wine lemon sauce; and costoletta alla salvia, single cut veal chop grilled with sage and garlic accompanied by roasted potatoes.

Il Mulino New  York South Beach

The South Beach location of the renowned classic Italian eatery located in SoFi, offers a three-course dinner on Valentine’s Day ($175 per person).  Guests can enjoy their choice of burrata with arugula, fennel, frisée and pears topped with black truffle; caprese, fresh buffalo mozzarella, sliced tomato, basil; oysters, lemon vinaigrette with shredded pineapple; ravioli porcini in a champagne truffle cream sauce; or cream of zucchini with Baby Shrimp, zucchini and beet puree with shrimp in vegetable broth.  Main course options include salmone all griglia with porcini mushroom sautéed in light garlic and olive oil served over broccoli rabe; costoletta alla salvia, double cut veal chop grilled with sage and garlic and roasted potatoes; red snapper crab meat, crab meat stuffed red snapper, risotto, and vanilla butter; ravioli di amore, cheese and basil stuffed ravioli in a sun-dried tomato and gorgonzola sauce; strawberry risotto with champagne; and langostinos, jumbo prawns with spinach.

Jaya at the Setai
Enjoy the newly renovated courtyard seating at the Setai with a six-course menu from Jaya. The ultimate dinner experience with Chef Mathias concentrates on Jaya’s pan-Asian flavors. Courses include Jaya’s signature salmon tartare, served with Japanese tobiko and gold leaf; Maine lobster presented with kabocha, sorrel, confit onion, and a sprinkle of chocolate powder; and Wagyu rib eye grilled with baby kale, garlic chips, and truffle ponzu. The meal ends with Black Forest chocolate and cherry mousse. The meal costs $125 per person, and all couples will receive a glass of rosé champagne with strawberries. Also, make a reservation for dinner by noon on Monday, February 13 be entered for a chance to win a one-night stay at the hotel to enjoy after your Valentine's Day dinner (only valid on February 14).

Juvia

Juvia is celebrating Valentine’s Day by offering special menu items à la carte. Appetizers include an oyster platter or aphrodisiac tasting (uni and leche de tigre, oysters, and foie gras terrine on a toast served with spicy papaya salad). Main courses include surf and turf, and dessert is chocolate-nougatine-glazed hazelnut-lemon sponge cake served with two dessert drinks. The restaurant is also offering a Strawberry Crush cocktail ($15), made with Belvedere vodka, mint, lime, strawberries, and ginger beer. Pop open a bottle of Moët & Chandon Imperial rosé brut for $120.

Kyu

Kyu will offer several flexible options. Choose the à la carte menu, the chef’s experience, or an upgraded chef’s experience priced at $95 per person that includes Valentine’s dishes. La Moderna
La Moderna invites guests to enjoy a Valentine's Day three-course prix fixe with a cocktail pairing for $80. The special menu will be available beginning at 9 p.m. and will feature some of La Moderna’s signature dishes, including marinated salmon, Angus beef carpaccio, risotto porcini, and beef tenderloin.

Macchialina
A Valentine's Day five-course chef’s tasting menu ($95) starts with branzino crudo with sea salt, lemon, and smoked mozzarella followed by lardo wrapped prawns with crema di cannellini and concentrated tomatoes; spaghetti con granchio with crab, pomodoro, pepperoncino; and breadcrumbs; and 21-day aged sirloin of beef with potato gatto, broccoli stufati, and natural jus. End the night with dolce of t ortino cioccolato.

Meat Market
Valentine's Day specials include truffled oysters Rockefeller, a Prime 32 oz. porterhouse (for two) topped with tristan-smoked lobster tail etouffee. For dessert, try the strawberries and honey with honey cake, whipped vanilla creme fraiche, macerated strawberry, strawberry sorbet, and fresh herbs. Olla
Chef Scott Linquist prepares a mole tasting experience featuring four of the seven moles of Oaxaca. The traditional mole is a stew or sauce that the Aztecs embraced as an aphrodisiac. The aphrodisiac-induced dinner ($60, additional $35 for drink pairing) will include five different courses starting with an amuse bouche consisting of a kumomoto oyster, sea urchin, serrano cucumber mignonette and micro cilantro, followed by four moles and  dessert. Beverages will include a welcome cocktail made with Mezcal to tantalize your taste-buds followed by three carefully curated wines finished with a shot of Ilegal Mezcal Reposaado. The menu will be available from 5 to 11 p.m.. Reservations can made by calling 786-717-5400.

Pisco y Nazca
February 8 through 20, the ceviche gastrobar will offer a Valentine’s Day-inspired market menu for dinner at both the Kendall and Doral locations. The menu is à la carte and offers ensalada de higos, tiradito cupido, pachmanca’s love (roasted baby chicken), langosta a la plancha, and atún nikkei (sesame-seed-crusted tuna), a Cupid’s Arrow cocktail, and a chocolate apasionado dessert. Prices range from $12 to $38.

Pizza Bar
The rock 'n' roll pizzeria on Collins Avenue will serving heart-shaped pizzas this Valentine's Day. For your sweet tooth, enjoy a Nutella heart pizza ($9) or a savory cheese heart pizza ($15). The late-night joint, located in the heart of South Beach, will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Regent Cocktail Club
Join the Regent Cocktail Club for a romantic evening behind the bar with an exclusive Valentine’s Day-edition champagne cocktail class Tuesday, February 14. Singles and couples alike can enjoy a comprehensive introduction to fundamental bartending techniques and learn the ropes of creating signature champagne cocktails in the Regent’s intimate setting. Dolce Italian will provide savory light bites. After the class, guests can enjoy a musical performance by French Caravan. Tickets cost $65 via mixstir.com.

Ricky's South Beach
Head to Ricky's South Beach for a laugh-filled night with your better half. Grab a craft beer and enjoy the carnival-inspired menu while watching some of South Florida's best comedians perform live. The fun begins as 9 p.m.

Rusty Pelican
Enjoy a special five-course aphrodisiac menu while debating whether to stare into your lovers eyes or the incredible view. A first course of rocket arugula, roasted beats, goat cheese, and a Champagne vinaigrette is followed by your choice of butter poached lobster tail or seared pork belly with cannellini bean truffle puree. For a third course, decide between chilled oyster marinated in pineapple, rosemary, apple, and cherry or coffee dusted prime steak tartare with rosemary aioli, shaved parmesan, and quail egg toasted pine nuts. Your main entree is either pistachio-crusted scallop with forbidden black rice, caviar, and fresh black truffle or chili-crusted filet mignon with seared foie gras, grilled asparagus, truffle honey glaze, and saffron cream. Sarsaparilla Club
Enjoy a special ten-course tasting menu created by real-life couple Jeff Mcinnis and Janine Booth. The Valentine’s Day menu ($79) will feature some of the Sarsaparilla Club's signature dishes but also some specials such as Persian love rice and pink deviled eggs. Vegetarians can indulge in soy-glazed mushroom steamed buns, beer-battered tempura eggplant buns, and Persian love rice spiced with saffron basmati. The meal ends after a visit from the famed dim sum dessert cart. Add a beverage pairing for $35 or a bubbly pairing for $45.

STK South Beach
The restaurant will offer a Valentine's Day menu February 11 through 14 for $300, which includes a champagne toast. Menu highlights are oysters Rockefeller, king crab with aguachile sauce, heirloom burrata salad, 40-day-dry-aged eight-ounce deckle steak, whole stuffed Maine lobster, and a half-dozen chocolate strawberries for dessert.

Sugar Factory
This Valentine’s Day, Sugar Factory will roll out a special prix fixe ($59); upgrade with a bonus of either the Bubbly Kisses goblet or Valentine’s Smooch martini ($75). Expect baked Brie, surf and turf, lemon chicken Paillard, and a Valentine’s fondue.
Sushi Garage
At Sunset Harbour's Sushi Garage, start with a Strawberry Crush cocktail ($12), containing Belvedere vodka, mint, lime, strawberries, and ginger beer, or a bottle of Moët & Chandon Imperial rosé ($120). Satisfy your hunger with a mixed ceviche of shrimp and whitefish ($23), a sushi and sashimi platter ($89 made to share), or Australian Wagyu teriyaki ($55).

SuViche
Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a Single & Saucy party stating at 7 p.m. on February 14th at the restaurant’s Las Olas and Wynwood locations. The Single & Saucy festivities will include food and drink specials such as free sake and champagne splits (with the purchase of an entrée), extended happy hour and buy one, get one half off sushi rolls. There will also be a DJ at both locations to keep the party going.

Talde at the Confidante
Dale Talde's eclectic Asian-American eatery at the Confidante Miami Beach will offer a four-course prix fixe featuring pretzel-pork-and-chive dumplings, samosas, chili-garlic noodles, "KFC" chicken, wok-charred greens, chocolate-honey cake, and two glasses of champagne ($65 per person). Tamarina
Enjoy a romantic candlelit dinner for two at this Brickell hot spot. A special chef's menu is topped off with prosecco and traditional Baci Perugina. Dinner is $180 for two. For menu details and reservations call 305-579-1888.

Toscana Divino
Celebrate romance with a San Valentino four-course dinner crafted by executive chef Andrea Marchesin and chef de cuisine Stefania Marin. The special menu ($65 per person) includes citrus capesante (scallops and citrus served on a petite bed of mixed greens), followed by tortelli di mare (red shrimp tortelli in a calvisius caviar bisque). The main course is dentice al cartoccio — snapper en papillote — accompanied by Mediterranean vegetables. For dessert, a passionfruit trio brings mousse, ice cream, and meringue.

Vagabond Kitchen & Bar
Vagabond Kitchen and Bar's Chef's Table is back for Valentine's Day.  Great for singles looking to enjoy a group dining experience.  Guests at the chef's table can dine on a prix-fixe menu while sipping on bottomless bubbles ($75). For those wishing for a more intimate evening, Vagabond also has prepared a three-course meal ($75) with a complimentary glass of champagne. Tickets are available at www.eventbrite.com.

The Northern Italian restaurant offers a four-course prix fixe ($45) including vegetable flan with cheese fondue, pear-and-cheese-stuffed ravioli, Parmigiano risotto with strawberries, and lovers' cake.
