Christmas brings out the best in people. There's something about the season that reminds us that we're all part of a larger community and we should help lift one another up.

Wynwood Brewing Company, one of the newest additions to Miami's food and beverage community, wants to pitch in and do its part, so it's hosting a Toys for Pints drive to collect toys for children in the neighborhood.

From now through January 5, drop off a new, unwrapped toy (valued at $5 or more) at the taproom and receive a free pint of any of the brewery's year-round brews (La Rubia, Pop's Porter, or Wynwood IPA). The taproom is open Tuesday through Sunday from 4 to 11 p.m. One free pint per person per gift.

The toys will be delivered to children serviced by the NET Community Center in Wynwood during a Thre Kings celebration Monday, January 6, at Roberto Clemente Park.

The Brigoni family, originally from Puerto Rico, wanted to give something back to the children of Wynwood, which is considered one of the original Puerto Rican neighborhoods in Miami. Wynwood Brewing's Luis Brignoni says, "This is the perfect way for us to share the joy of the holidays with the Wynwood community. The NET Center services around 70 kids from the area in its after-school programs, and we wanted to keep alive the tradition of the Three Kings Day."

So when you're at the mall, pick up an extra toy or two for the kids and exchange it for a cold pint at Wynwood Brewing -- because beer tastes even better with a side of heart.
