Miami's first craft doughnut shop, which opened at the beginning of the year, has announced a second pop-up location, beginning July 16 at the Confidante in Miami Beach.

That same week, the company will launch a partnership with UberEats, an on-demand meal delivery service powered by the Uber app. The donut shop's weekend pop-up in Wynwood will remain open too.

"We just had to jump on this opportunity," says Amanda Pizarro, cofounder of the Salty Donut. "The Confidante is so beautiful and embodies everything that our brand is. Wynwood is still our number one goal, but we figured that because it's hard to reach all of our customers on the Beach, this would be a perfect thing to do."

The Confidante, formerly known as the Thompson Miami Beach, will host the doughnut shop every Thursday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Confidante's backyard. The entrance will be at the end of 41st Street, east of Collins Avenue. It is slated to remain open through Labor Day weekend.

Doughnuts aside, the public will have full access to the Confidante's pool, bar, and restaurant area. The space offers beach access too.

"The most exciting thing is that the space it's in is just beautiful," she says. "I could hang out there for hours. Basically, you can grab a doughnut and walk a few feet and eat it on the beach, or take it and sit by the pool."
The Confidante pop-up will serve many Salty staples, such as traditional glazed buttermilk, maple bacon, and brown butter salt, but will also serve seasonal and weekly specials unique to the Miami Beach location. There will also be a more elaborate coffee program, along with mimosas and other champagne-inspired drinks.

"We're going to be offering things that aren't in Wynwood," Pizarro says. "There will be coffee mocktails, along with mimosas and champagne. We're going for a brunch type of vibe. You'll literally be able to go there and grab a few doughnuts and a mimosa and have a Salty Donut brunch."

The Beach pop-up, she says, will have the same qualities as the Wynwood location but sport a different atmosphere.

"This won't be a replicate of Wynwood," she says. "We always want to spice things up and offer something different no matter where we go. It's not just another Salty Donut. The vibe will still be there, but it's definitely going to be different than Wynwood."

In addition to the new pop-up, the Salty Donut is one of four companies launching with UberEats, which will deliver doughnuts on demand. The partnership is slated to begin the week of July 11.

The Salty Donut's Wynwood brick-and-mortar location is scheduled to open in the next couple of months, but a date has not yet been released. Until then, the weekend pop-up (29 NW 24th St., Miami), which runs Friday through Saturday from 11 a.m. till 6 p.m. (or till all donuts are sold-out), will operate as usual.
