Drinking beer is quickly becoming one of South Florida's favorite pastimes. And this Saturday, you can find some of the state's best craft brews during South Florida BrewFest at the Kovens Conference Center in North Miami.
By "best craft brews," we don't mean only commercial beers. Several homebrew clubs in Miami-Dade and Broward -- such as 2LiveBrews, 4th Age Brewing and Opus Ales -- will also participate in the fest.

More than 75 brewers from across the state will be there, including Cigar City, Tequesta, and MIA Brewing.
Brewing seminars by industry experts such as Brown Distributing and Drink Like a Local will offer a look into what's going on in that pimp cup of yours.
B.R.E.W. FIU cofounders Matthew Weintraub (consultant with Miami Brewing), David Rodriguez (cellarman at Wynwood Brewing), and Nick Armada (CerveTech/Daddy Brews) will also participate. See the fest's website for a complete listing of seminars, including how to pair beer with food.
South Florida BrewFest will take place Saturday, November 23, from noon to 5 p.m. Florida International University students receive a special $15 discounted ticket price, and alums pay $25. General admission tickets cost $40 in advance and $50 at the door. All proceeds benefit Florida International University's Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management.
