Q. You have some prime beachfront property and some NFL greats as pals -- plus you're into reggae music. What do you do?
A. You host a reggae beach bowl and invite everyone you know.
That's what the Sole on the Ocean hotel and Ralph Pagano's Alba Seaside Italian restaurant is doing tomorrow, April 13, from 2 - 9 p.m., when the sands of Sunny Isles Beach will ring with island sounds as you take in the ocean breeze, rum punch in hand.
NFL greats Antonio Brown and Amhad Bradshaw will join Miami Dolphins Lamar Miller and Olivier Vernon in hosting this bash, featuring a live performance by Junior Marvin & One Love of Bob Marley & The Wailers.
And, since you've got to eat, Alba Seaside Italian's chef Ralph Pagano is turning up the heat with a jerk chicken and pork cookout on the beach.
Pagano will be serving jerk chicken,
jerk pork, Jamaican beef patties, and corn on the cob. Drink specials include frozen pina coladas, mojitos, margaritas, rum punch, and Heineken.
We asked the chef, who is better known for his Italian delicacies, why he decided to "jerk around" this weekend.
He told Short Order, "At Alba, we focus on all things "la dolce vita" but we are also all about frozen mojitos and backyard barbecue while listening to reggae with our toes in the sand. And, who doesn't want to celebrate 420 early?"
Well, alrighty then. All we have to say is save some chicken, a mojito, and a spot by the stage for us.
