Shake Shack will be offering two special items from Friday August 30 to September 2 in celebration of Labor Day and in recognition of all the hardworking Americans who make this country great. Oh, and also as a way to end the summer with a bang.

"Labor Day is summer's last hurrah; one last weekend to come together and celebrate all that's great about summertime fare with friends and family," says Mark Rosati, culinary director for Shake Shack. Rosati joined the Shake Shack team in 2007 at the original Madison Square Park location. Prior to that he worked at Gramercy Tavern in New York.

First item on Shake Shack's Labor Day menu is the Shack Corn Dog ($4.50). "Our Shack Corn Dog is a riff on the American classic featuring a 100% all-natural Vienna beef hot dog dipped in our Shack-made batter, which has a touch of heat from fresh jalapeños, and then fried crisp. Like our burgers, the star of the show here is the all-natural beef used in our hot dogs, so we like to keep the batter light and more crisp than traditional corn dogs to ensure the full flavor of the dog shines through," explains Rosati. The dog is served with Rick's Picks sweet corn relish.

Chase down the piquant perro with a Peach Pie Oh My Concrete ($4.25 - $6.50). Rosati describes the end of summer sensation, "To help round out our end of summer offerings, we wanted to highlight delicious, peak of the season peaches with our version of pie al a mode called the Peach Pie Oh My Concrete, which is our vanilla frozen custard blended with a slice of peach pie."
