The Great Gatsby is back. The classic F. Scott Fitzgerald tale of beautiful people with first-world problems has been given the Baz Luhrmann treatment. Starring Leo DiCaprio as Gatsby, with music by Beyoncé and Kanye, the movie has received mixed reviews. But who cares? We're watching for the over-the-top parties, the fabulous costumes, and the train wreck that's bound to happen.

After that movie, we're going to need a drink. Serendipity 3 is only too pleased to oblige. They've concocted two fabulous pre-Prohibition cocktails -- perfect for before or after watching Gatsby.

Guests with a same day ticket stub from The Great Gatsby at Regal Cinema South Beach 18 (on Lincoln Road), will be treated to a complimentary Backroom Burbon Mint Julep or Gatsby's Shirley Temple (the virgin kind). The offer is good throughout the month of May.

So get out your best linen suit and your flapper dress and get to Serendipity 3. Or, make the drinks at your palatial mansion -- ala Gatsby -- with these recipes:

Backyard Bourbon Mint Julep

Ingredients

4-5 Mint leaves

1/2 oz. Simple syrup

2 1/2 oz. bourbon

Mint sprig for garnish

Instructions

Place the mint and simple syrup into glass. Muddle well enough to dissolve the sugar and to release the oil and aroma of the mint. Add the bourbon and fill with crushed ice. Stir well until the glass becomes frosty.

Gatsby's Shirley Temple

Ingredients

2 oz. Vodka

2 oz. Orange juice

Splash of grenadine

Sprite

Instructions

Fill glass up with ice and add vodka and orange juice. Fill nearly to the top with Sprite and add one splash of grenadine. Substitute 2 oz. of bourbon instead of the vodka for an extra zing!

For extra prohibition-era authenticity (or for the 21 and under set), leave out the booze and the orange juice. (Note: the cocktail served at Serendipity 3 is the virgin Shirley Temple -- unless you specify otherwise).
