Wise men and idiots alike have uttered the words, "Food is better when it's booze." But the intelligence of the utterer has absolutely no bearing on the truth of the matter. Booze food is better. And there are three main reasons why: 1) Swallowing takes less effort than chewing; 2) Total meal time is drastically reduced by an all-in-one solution; and 3) Getting drunk while getting fed is a few bucks cheaper.

So if you ever wander far enough from Wynwood to see the ocean, make a pitstop at Alonzo's Oyster Bar in Key West. It's the kind of place where you can indulge your hunger and your thirst simultaneously. It's also the little brother of A & B Lobster House, so you can get solid seafood too, if you're into that sort of thing.

For the booze foodies among us, however, there's a fine shot of liquid nutrition called the Oyster Shooter. It's a freshly shucked oyster swimming in horseradish, cocktail sauce, and Absolut Peppar vodka and it costs $8. Suck it back, order a dozen more, and that's dinner.
