Hailing from West Hollywood, CA, glitterati gastrolounge Apple is getting its first taste of living it up Miami. And it's a wet one.
Thanks to our token inclement summer weather arriving on schedule, Apple's owners have been tossed off theirs.
Principal Steve Marlton confirmed this afternoon via phone that the
restaurant will not be opening as rumored this Friday, but rather next
week, "with all this bad weather." They're also still applying some finishing touches to the space. The current plan is to soft open for friends and family on
Monday (6/1) and Tuesday (6/2), to let
the staff get settled in and work out the kinks, followed by a public opening on Wednesday (6/3.)
In true LA LA land form, Marlton didn't seem to be phased at all with the delay. But why should he be? It's just more time to hype the hype. "Bryan [Ogden]
is the best chef I've ever worked with. In fact, I don't think Miami
has ever seen anything quite like this before," he added.
That's pretty big talk, but nothing we're not used to here. Time will tell if they can back it up.
