Pascal's on Ponce is flat-out one of this city's best spots for dining. The food is prepared so delicately, and the flavors are divine. Pascal's isn't necessarily known for its gnocchi, but this stuff is unbelievably good: twisted, spätzle-size pearls of ethereal potato-based pasta adorned with oyster mushrooms, creamed with mascarpone cheese, and permeated with truffle oil. It's not currently on the seasonal menu, but if you ask for it, they'll prepare a serving. We say ask for it (although you might want to make your gnocchi request when making reservations).
Also note that next Wednesday is the 210th anniversary of the storming of Bastille, and Pascal's will feature a special $55 menu of French specialties. Seating will begin at 6 p.m.
