Gabriele Marewski recently announced she plans to sell Paradise Farms to relocate to Asheville, but there's still much to do during growing season. Plants and vegetables must be harvested, dinners must be planned, and product must be sold.
With that in mind, Marewski has announced the opening of a weekly farmers' market in South Beach.

Everything at the market is grown locally, either at Paradise Farms or neighboring farms in Homestead and the Redland.
Offerings will change weekly based on weather conditions, but "Farmer Andy" Heck says to expect a bounty of fresh fruits and vegetables such as oyster mushrooms, greens, tomatoes, avocados, radishes, scallions, cilantro, edible flowers, microgreens, and pea shoots. In addition, look for tropical and exotic offerings like carambola, passionfruit, sapodilla, black sapote, Thai guava, and Thai banana. There will also be heirloom tomato plants for sale, so you can try your hand at starting your own garden.
The market will be held Wednesdays, beginning tomorrow, January 15, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 1900 Bay Rd. in Sunset Harbour, in the breezeway between Panther Coffee and Icebox Café. Parking is available at an affordable $1 per hour in the municipal garage.
