The 17th-annual New Times' "Original" Beerfest, presented by Isle Casino, returns to Fort Lauderdale's Esplanade Park Saturday, October 25, and it promises to be one amazing evening filled with music, fun, and beer.
More than 100 brews will be on hand for your sampling enjoyment, including beers from Florida's best local breweries, such as Funky Buddha, Miami Brewing Company, Hollywood Organic Brewing, Cigar City, and Islamorada Beer Company.

Beerfest also includes a homebrewers competition, where beer hobbyists can enter their brews for a chance to win a one-on-one afternoon mentorship with Johnathan Wakefield, founder of J. Wakefield Brewing Company in Miami. (To enter or for more information, contact Chesi Argibay, New Times social media and marketing manager, at [email protected]).
Tickets for Beerfest cost $30 for general admission, which allows you unlimited sampling from 7 to 10 p.m. VIP tickets are already sold out, but there's a way to get additional perks (and lots more beer):
Announcing the Brewmaster ticket, which allows you entry to Beerfest at 6 p.m. Not only will you have access to an additional hour of beer sampling, but you'll also be able to sample a variety of special brews that will be tapped only from 6 to 7 p.m. That means special, rare selections (including some homebrewers' selections) will be available only for Brewmaster and VIP ticketholders. Brewmaster tickets cost only $45 and are available now -- but hurry because supplies are limited.
