When summer arrives and the sweltering heat starts to smother us, it's time to forego heavy foods in favor of lighter fare. And ceviche, the citrus-marinated South American seafood treat, is a perfect choice on days like today when it's way too hot for the usual pan con bistec.

Midtown's Mexican haunt is offering an extra-special lobster ceviche. It's made with poached lobster, green tomatoes, red onions, pineapple, chile de arbol broth, and pumpkin seeds, and it costs $15.50.
Pop into the teeny Washington Ave location or the newer Brickell outpost for 25 percent off all in-store ceviche orders today.
Head to the Gables for an upscale ceviche-tasting party featuring varieties like ceviche clasico al ají limo, ceviche bachiche, ceviche de camarones al olivo, and ceviche de tuna chino latino, among others. It's $60 a pop, and there'll be pisco too. You can score tickets online.
Head into the Grove with a plus-one for a taste of Jaguar's ceviche sampler platter for two. The $20 option includes choros a la chalaca, lobster tail ceviche, and ceviche tostadas stuffed with ceviche peruano and ceviche los cabos.
