Hope you took a few catnaps at your desk this week, because Presidents' Day weekend in Miami means a fun-filled agenda of events, shows, and goodies. It's also Valentine's Day weekend, so whether you do the whole champagne-and-flowers thing or you simply want to share a cupcake with your bestie (even if your bestie is a beastie), there's a place in our fair city perfect for celebrating.
The weekend starts now!
Miami International Boat Show
This weekend, more than 1,200 boats will be presented at the 75th-annual Miami International Boat Show. Though you might not have the cash for a yacht, it's nice to fantasize for a day. If all that daydreaming of sailing off to the Caribbean gets you hungry, the Boat Show has set up quite the assortment of pop-up restaurants and bars. Take your pick of barbecue, a whole roasted pig, and seafood. If you're thirsty, there'e even a beer garden. Check out the list of the best food and beverages at the Miami Boat Show here. The show is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily until February 15. Admission costs $20 for adults. A two-day pass is $35; a five-day pass costs $85. Kids 15 and younger get in free.
Wakestock
J. Wakefield Brewing is celebrating its first anniversary — and when a brewery has a party, there's a lot of beer involved. Wakestock, a celebration of peace and beer, will pour 70 beers by more than 30 breweries. Even better, many of the brews have never been available in Florida before. Wakestock takes over the GastroPod lot at 160 NW 26th St. in Wynwood this Saturday, February 13, from noon to 5 p.m. and will feature a DJ spinning, food by GastroPod's Jeremiah Bullfrog, and all that beer. Admission is free, and beers cost $5 for a six-ounce pour.
Puppy Love at Ms. Cheezious
Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and that means tons of head rubs, love bites, and sloppy, wet kisses — because no one loves you as much as your dog loves you. Reciprocate that undying devotion by taking Fido or Fifi to Ms. Cheezious' Puppy Love lunch. This Saturday, February 13, from 2 to 6 p.m., you and your pup can enjoy music by DJs Paulie and Chris Valencia (we're sure they'll play "Who Let the Dogs Out" at least once), play games, and take pictures together at the special head-in-the-hole photo wall by artist Delvis. Humans will enjoy $3 PBR cans, and you both can share a grilled cheese sammy (or two). Admission is free, but RSVP through Eventbrite is requested. Please make sure your pooch is on a leash, and bring your own waste bag, please!
Coconut Grove Arts Festival
More than 360 artists from around the world will take over the streets of Coconut Grove for the 53rd-annual Coconut Grove Arts Festival, which takes place Saturday, February 13, through Monday, February 15, at Peacock Park. (One-day passes cost $15.) The festival, open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, is also great for music lovers and foodies because of continuous live musical acts and a global food village along Bayshore Drive. The village includes a large range of items, such as arepas, soft pretzels, ice cream, soy nuts, lemonade, and fresh fruit smoothies. Be sure to hit one of the bloody mary carts for the perfect drink to go with your art stroll.

Sugar Yummy Mama
The sweetest shop and truck in town, Sugar Yummy Mama will celebrate its fifth anniversary this Sunday, February 14 — and there's cake involved. From noon to 4 p.m., stop by the Wynwood shop (2600 N. Miami Ave., Miami) to say congrats to Giselle Pinto and enjoy free goodies like Nespresso coffee, Peroni and Blue Moon beers, and alfajores. While you're there, pick up some Valentine's Day treats at 25 percent off.
