Weekend's here, guys, and this time it's all about beer, brunch, boobs...and being a nice person. Let us explain.
Of course, we're still in the midst of that wonderful celebration known as American Craft Beer Week, so if you're into hoppy IPA's, a good chocolaty porter, or a refreshing lager, there's still time to taste some delicious, rare, small batch brews.
If you're into brunch, there are two great ones this weekend. One takes you back to the Jazz Age, when Hemingway and the Fitzgeralds spent the days writing and their nights eating and drinking. The other offers booze and brunch -- to save boobs!

Literary Jazz Brunch at The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove
Food and the written word go as well together as cold oysters and a good wine. If you want proof, you just have to read this quote from Ernest Hemingway's "A Moveable Feast":
"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy and to make plans."
Now that we've got your appetite whet for novels and a nosh, head over to the Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove on Saturday, May 17 for their Literary Jazz Brunch. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., enjoy food, books, and live jazz by the Les Haber Quartet. Mingle with local authors as you brunch the day away. The event costs $130 and benefits the Footprints Foundation.
American Craft Beer Week -- We'll Drink to That
American Craft Beer Week is still going strong, with brew pubs and restaurants around Miami tapping rare kegs, special editions, and fan favorites. Your favorite haunts like WOB, Abbey Brewing Company, Kush, and Wynwood Brewing Company have gotten in on the action. Booze, Brunch & Boobs
No, it's not the free buffet offered at strip clubs. It's a fantastic brunch that benefits a great cause. On Saturday, May 17, PB Steak is hosting a special brunch to benefit FMCancer, a public charity organization that provides assistance to young adults fighting cancer.
Chefs Giorgio Rapicavoli, Alberto Cabrera, and Jose Mendin are combining forces to bring you an insane six-course family-style tasting brunch that includes such delicious offerings as a McBrisket; shrimp & grits; green eggs & ham; carbonara eggs Benedict, Cuban bread torrejas; and ropa vieja hash.
There are two seatings, at noon and one at 2:30 p.m. and brunch is $50 per person. $20 extra gets you bottomless Prosecco mimosas, Bloody Marys, sangria, and micheladas. Reservations are suggested and can be made by calling 305-695-9550.
Hope Floats
If you're planning a little Memorial Day food shopping trip, head over to The Fresh Market in Coconut Grove this weekend and snag a root beer float or other goodies at the 20th annual Hope Floats event that benefits JDRF. On Friday, May 16 and Saturday, May 17 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., enjoy a root beer float (regular or diet; $2); ice cream sundae ($2); or a hot dog ($2) with 100 percent of proceeds benefiting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
