It's Art Basel weekend and everyone from Kimye to Martha Stewart is in town to eat, drink, and peruse the galleries.
Of course there are about a grillion different fabulous parties where you can wait on line for about an hour to grab some Chardonnay in a plastic cup. But there are so many other things going on this weekend, too.
From artistic brunches to a day on the farm, this weekend has something for everyone. You can always sleep in on Monday.

Norman Van Aken Book Signing and Reception at Books & Books
Norman Van Aken's new book, No Experience Necessary: The Culinary Odyssey of Chef Norman Van Aken, tells the tale of one of Miami's most beloved and respected chefs from the day he answered a classified ad for a short order cook to the present day.
The chef is hosting a book signing and talk at Books & Books in Coral Gables tonight, Friday, December 6 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. along with a reception with free food. Van Aken has enlisted the help of fellow chefs Phil Bryant, Cesar Zapata, Jamie DeRosa, and Allen Susser to create dishes inspired by the cookbook. The reception and talk is free, and the book will be available for purchase for $24.95. Holiday shopping and an evening schmoozing with south Florida's finest chefs in one evening? Priceless.
Art Basel Food Trucks
Walking the streets of Wynwood in search of the next Banksy works up a mean appetite. Luckily, food trucks will be serving up goodness all weekend from 11 a.m. until around 1 a.m. Trucks located at Wynwood Lot (210 NW 22nd Lane) include Bite Gastrotruck; Cheeseburger Baby; Health Nut on Wheels; Taco Fresh; Palate Party; Mr. Good Stuff; Nacho Bizness; BC Taco; Arepa Box; Grill Master; Los Chamos; Boba Station; Empanada Truck; People People Eatery; Giuseppe's; Dim Ssam a Gogo; Ms. Cheezious; Latin Burger and Taco; and Sugar Yummy Mama. Martha Stewart at Macy's
Don't you wonder how Martha Stewart does all that she does at Christmas?
The woman can literally chop down a tree, drag it home, decorate it, bake a few dozen Christmas cookies, prepare an eight-course dinner for 12, and sew a few throw pillows with decorative reindeer on them in the time it takes for you to make a sandwich.
The Domestic Diva herself will be at Macy's Home Store (second floor) at the Aventura Mall on Saturday, December 7 at 1 p.m.to share her holiday secrets and give you a taste of some of her favorite Christmas dishes. Martha will also sign her newest book, Martha Stewart's Cakes, which you can get free with a $50 Martha Stewart Collection purchase. Seating is first-come, first-served and reservations are required. Art Basel Brunch at Tongue & Cheek
What do you get when you mix a great chef and a celebrated graffiti artist? Brunch!
On Sunday, December 8, Tongue & Cheek's Jamie DeRosa will host a special Art Basel Brunch Bash with special guest artist Claudio Picasso. From 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. enjoy a la carte brunch with bottomless drinks featuring favorites like fried chicken and cheddar waffles with honey and maple syrup; Key West pink shrimp n' grits with tomato, pickled peppers and chorizo; "munchkin" donuts with spiced Mexican chocolate; Cuban sandwich with pork, gruyère cheese and pickles; Benedict of braised brisket with braised greens and Tabasco hollandaise topped on English muffins and more.
Claudio's Art Basel collection pieces will be on display and for sale and the artist will be on-site to sign his work, along with additional artists including Skott "Rage" Johnson, Trek 6, Atomik, and Monz. Because art can't be contained, the party spills out onto the street with break dancers and beach cruisers.
Paradise Farms Market
If you've been stuck in a bunch of galleries and need some fresh air to clear your mind of free cocktails and inexplicable art, drive out to Paradise Farms in Homestead this Sunday for the weekly Farmers Market. From 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. shop for farm fresh avocados, salad greens, eggs, beans, honey, edible flowers, and more. While you're there, enjoy lunch prepared by Paradise Farms' resident chef.
