If your weekend was anything like ours, you felt as if a wave of salvation flooded over you when you realized it was Monday morning. Oy. Rough.

So here we are. With the new week ahead, there are new things to enjoy and discover, such as the fact that it's truffle and stone crab season -- both of which are ripe for the picking.

There's also an orchestra wine-and-dine happening at DB Bistro Moderne in downtown tonight, and a 50 Eggs career fair for you locos who didn't make it to the first one.

Musique et Cuisine du Soleil - Monday

What are you doing tonight? "Nothing" is the wrong answer. From 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Monday, DB Bistro and the Miami Symphony Orchestra will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Miami's resident orchestra, MISO. Guests can enjoy an intimate performance by classical guitarist Angel Romero, along with pianist Andreas Boyde. Delightful canapes will be passed around during the intimate performances. The French Riviera was chosen as inspiration for the bites, which include tuna Provençal, venison terrine, and small plates including lamb kibbeh caponatta and loup de mer ratatouille. All will be paired with a rosé, 2012 Chateâu Castel des Maures; a red, 2010 Maîson Roche de Bellene; and a dessert wine, Viña Tabalí. Tickets cost $55 in advance or $65 at the door. You can purchase tickets online here.

Job Fair at Khong - Tuesday and Thursday

A couple of weeks ago, we told you about a job fair at Swine in Coral Gables. Its parent company, 50 Eggs, needs help, and if you didn't take the chance last time, here's your second opportunity. This Tuesday, October 22, and Thursday, October 24, from 9 a.m. to noon and again from 3 to 6 p.m., Khong River House on Lincoln Road will host a career fair to fill 150 job openings. The positions range from the front of the house to the back of the house, including restaurant managers, bar managers/sommeliers, servers, server assistants, bartenders, barbacks, maitres'd, host/esses, reservationists, sous-chefs, line cooks, prep cooks, pastry cooks, and dishwashers.

Trufflemania at Cecconi's

Fall is here, and truffle season has kicked off. Where pumpkin spice fills coffee shops, truffles fill eateries, Cecconi's included. The restaurant at Soho Beach House is now offering new menu items during truffle season. Those items include a black truffle pizza, asparagus, Parmesean cheese, and eggs with truffles, truffle risotto, and eggs tagliolini with truffle. If you want, the truffles can be shaved onto your meal tableside -- all you have to do is ask.

Joe's Stone Crab

Now that the first week of stone crab season has passed, it's time to visit Joe's. How did you expect to get a table otherwise? We recommend visiting now that the rush is over (or at least subsided a bit). As a matter of fact, we're planning on heading there for some claws after work one day this week. Why not do the same? The fruits of the sea await.
