Leave it to the Miami AdFed, "a bunch of advertising geeks," to call their bimonthly meeting tonight at Por Fin Restaurant featuring 2-for-1 drinks and complimentary bar snacks from 6 - 8 p.m. "Botellon."

Botellon is a Spanish term that generally refers to a gathering of young people to drink outdoors after purchasing alcohol from stores rather than more expensive bars, clubs, or restaurants.

The Miami AdFed flyer reads "In Spain, a night out almost always begins with a botellon. Friends meet up for drinks at this social gathering before heading off to the nightclubs and parties. Now you can enjoy this Spanish style happy hour at Por Fin Restaurant."

Way to rebrand an activity expressly created to avoid proper venues and their markups as an event at a restaurant! Nice job AdFed. Gotta admit that Botellon is a cool name, but what ever happened to truth in advertising?

Por Fin is at 2500 Ponce de Leon Blvd. Coral Gables, FL 33134. Call 305-441-0107 for info.
