Man Arrested After Shooting Ex-Girlfriend in the Face at Denny's

An argument between an estranged couple at a North Miami Denny's escalated, leading to an Attempted Murder charge.

According to North Miami Police, on Monday, August 5 at around 12:30 a.m., Brooke Tuchinsky and her ex-boyfriend, Sean Barnes, were "engaged in a verbal argument at the Denny's restaurant on NE 121 Street and Biscayne Boulevard. When the victim went to the bathroom, the subject followed and shot the victim."

North Miami Police Public Information Officer Major Neal Cuevas confirmed Tuchinsky was shot in the face, and that Barnes fled the scene.

An extensive investigation and search was conducted, and Barnes was located and arrested on charges of Attempted Murder, Aggravated Battery, and Shooting a Deadly Weapon.

According to CBS Miami, Tuchinsky was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she is listed in stable condition.

Barnes is being held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center .
