Yardbird Southern Table & Bar, 50 Eggs Restaurant Group newest venture with chef Jeff McInnis has been fun, but it hasn't forgotten about its much older and very successful baby, Lime Fresh Mexican Grill.
Since its debut in 2004, the local chain has expanded rapidly throughout the state and even to Alabama. One of their newest storefronts is set for the heart of West Kendall. Fashionably late to the area's restaurant chain party, opening date's tentatively set for January 2012 at a former podiatrist's office.
Strange? Yes. Reason? It's the closest location to the busy Kendall Drive.
The exact address is 12516 SW 88th Street. It's located next to a Smoothie King and Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza. The chain hopes to bring oomph to the otherwise strange strip mall which consists of a CVS, an apothecary, Cuban wiring company, scuba diving specialty store, and a Bangkok Bangkok. For those that live in West Kendall, it's the shopping center on the Southeast side at the intersection of Kendall Drive and 127th Avenue.
Take a peek inside of the location and an opening in January seems more of a wish than a reality. We'll be sure to keep you updated on its progress.
A little more about Lime that sets it apart from its brethren, Moe's and
Chipotle (in case you've never been). All
Lime locations feature a signature homemade salsa bar (with five
different types) and 50 variations of hot sauces
Lime offers a more diverse menu than typical fast-casual restaurants. Its service model is slightly different in that once you have
placed your order and paid, your food is brought to you and you are
served for the remainder of your meal. Drink refills,
additional orders, extra sauces needed are all provided by a Lime
associate. The place offers traditional Mexican sweets, including Sopapilla and
Cinnamon Chips, as well as everybody's Florida favorite, Key Lime Pie in addition to frozen margaritas, Lime also offers frozen sangria.
Let the Mexican fast casual restaurant wars begin.
