Halloween is this Friday -- and the best thing about this holiday is that you can totally enjoy it on the cheap.

While some tout the "real meaning of Christmas," we all know it's about going into debt on presents. But on Halloween all you need is some creativity, old clothes, and tape to make yourself a costume.

Even the whole premise of Halloween -- where you walk around and get free candy -- is pretty awesome. If you're on a budget, we suggest making yourself a cheap costume and heading out for cheap -- or free -- food.

Pollo Tropical in Aventura

Forget a bunch of chocolate kisses, how about some chicken in that treat bag? Pollo Tropical in Aventura (20403 Biscayne Boulevard) is offering a free kids meals to all kids arriving in costume today through Friday, October 31. Just stop in with your little monster between 4 to 7 p.m. and your kid eats free when you purchase an adult entree. The offer is good at the Aventura location only and only for dine-in meals.

Mall-o-Ween at Shops at Sunset Place

South Miami's Shops at Sunset Place celebrates Mall-o-Ween on Friday, October 31, from 4 to 7 p.m. on the first level near Sunset Drive. Dress up in costume and haunt the stores for free candy and other goodies. GameTime will offer a chance to win prizes and Sonic the Hedgehog is scheduled to make an appearance. Toy weapons are not allowed and masks can only be worn by kids 12 and under.

The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove's Spooktacular Festival

Here's your chance to purchase a costume at 75 percent off on November 1 and still get some use out of it. This party is actually on Saturday, November 1, but that's all right. From 2 to 6 p.m., enjoy a face painter, bounce house, fun food like popcorn and desserts, and arts and crafts.Three-dollar valet parking is a deal!

Cocowalk's Howl-o-Ween

Coconut Grove's shopping center does double duty this Halloween. From 2 to 7 p.m., it's all about the kids when Cocowalk offers trick-or-treating at its shops and restaurants. Then, from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m., grownups take over with DJ's costume contests, and food and drink specials at Cocowalk's restaurants.

Boorito at Chipotle

On October 31 from 5 p.m. to closing, Chipotle is hosting its annual Boorito celebration and fundraiser. Just wear a costume to any participating Chipotle and get a burrito,, bowl, salad, taco, or kids meal for only $3. Plus, all proceeds will benefit the Chipotle Cultivate Foundation. Since you're already in costume, post your scary selfie (at a Chipotle) to Twitter or Instagram using hashtag #CHIPOTLEBOORITOCONTEST to be eligible to win a $2,500 prize in one of the following categories: Best Group Costume, Scariest Costume, or Most Creative.
