Get Some Miso Hungry, End Up on TV (Maybe) This Week

As further proof that 2012 may indeed bring an apocalypse, the current crop of reality TV offerings not only offers warring shows about pawn hockers, hoarders, and trash-sifters, but now, also, abandoned storage container bidders. If you work at home or stay up too late, you may already be familiar with A&E's Storage Wars, in which a group of enterprising reseller types bids on the mystery contents of abandoned storage spaces.

Well, surprise! There's now a competing version, Spike TV's Auction Wars, and it's filming in Miami this week. Unlike Storage Wars, this show allows locals to show up and sign up for the opportunity to make a bid. if you're into spending money on the unknown, or just gawking while other people do so, you can eat well while you hang out -- Miami food truck Miso Hungry is in charge of all of the catering.

The show started filming today, but you can still get some grub and sign up for a chance to buy some disappeared, deadbeat, or just dead people's stuff. Just show up by 9 a.m. at the following locations:

Wednesday, February 2
Value Store It
9101 NW 7th Ave., MIami

Thursday, February 3
Value Store It
901 N. Miami Beach Blvd., North Miami Beach

Anyways, despite all our sarcasm, if you're in the area, it's worth it to stop by just for the food. Miso Hungry is fast gaining local fans for its casual take on pan-Asian fare, but, as truck co-owner David Pastrana admits, "9 a.m. is a little early for things like chicken curry."

For the occasion, then, in the morning he and partner Kimberly Killmer will be rolling out their own twist on breakfast food, including a sausage, egg, and cheese muffin (presumably with a twist), a pork biscuit, and lighter selections like fruit salad. Oh, and if things go well, fanish -- no Asian twist there. For lunch time, the menu goes as usual.

If you're craving the truck's full range of dinner food -- mmm, lettuce wraps -- you can also catch them tonight with Jefe's at the Gas Spot on Biscayne Blvd. and NE 110th St. Thursday night, Miso Hungry will also be at the new BTTR roundup at American Legion Park
