What do you get when Woodford Reserve bourbon teams up with Esquire magazine? The ultimate Manhattan challenge. The two companies are searching for the the quintessential Big Apple cocktail. At stake are a chance to win a trip to NYC for two, swag bags, prizes, and bragging rights as the "Winner of the Manhattan Experience."

Shooting up to represent Miami is Ezra Pattek, partner of Bar Lab Catering -- a new venture from the same fellows that "Mix Shit Up" at the W Hotel.

Entries will be judged based on taste, ingredients, creativity, presentation and, of course, the use Woodford Reserve. Pattek's entry? His own peach tea-infused vermouth, almond and clove syrup, and homemade spiced bitters.

The competition is due to take place on January 10. So it's just a matter of days before he heads north to shake up his goods and show the world Miami's got some barmen worth reckoning.

Best of luck E! Bring home the bacon!

Ezra's recipe includes:

Houston Street Manhattan

1.75 oz. Woodford Reserve®
1 oz. Black Tea Peach Infused Vermouth
½ oz. Homemade Almond Clove Syrup
a few dashes of spiced bitters
Garnished with a flambé peach slice
