The annual Coconut Grove Arts Festival, now celebrating its 51st year, is one of the longest-established festivals in the country. Each Presidents' Day weekend, tens of thousands of people flock to the Grove to buy art in every medium and price range. And there is something for everyone -- from giant sculptures and oil paintings to photographs and jewelry. The festival is open today at Peacock Park and along Bayshore Drive, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and admission is $15 per day; residents of zip code 33133 pay only $5; children under 12 are free.
What does the festival have to do with food? Well, in addition to the culinary pavilion, where some of Miami's best chefs demonstrate their cooking skills hourly from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the dozens of food and drink vendors serving everything from funnel cake to bloody marys, food is the subject of much of the art.
If you're as food obsessed as we are, you might just want to pick up an homage to peanut butter and jelly for your living room or a wearable coffee cup for your lapel. Here are our favorite finds.
