A spokeswoman for the restaurant wouldn't confirm the details; however, job postings for executive chef and general manager positions popped up earlier this week on Craigslist and the cooking jobs website Culinary Agents.
Brothers Bruce and Eric Bromberg founded the Blue Ribbon brand more than two decades ago when they opened the original on Lower Manhattan's Sullivan Street in 1992. The Brombergs went on to establish a restaurant empire that now includes nearly 20 restaurants across a half-dozen concepts. The Blue Ribbon sushi brand seems to be the most successful, with iterations in New York City, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. The Vegas spot's menu includes a vast array of nigiri, sashimi, and makis, alongside more composed plates such as oxtail fried rice and yellowtail collar teriyaki with truffle and scallion.
We'll update you with more information whenever the PR machine decides to fill us in now that the word is out. However, Blue Ribbon has a steep climb here in Miami. Menin Hospitality's SoFi Asian-fusion spot Red Ginger failed to impress, while Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto's namesake restaurant in the recently revamped Shelborne Wyndham Grand shut its doors after less than a year in business.
