Barley and Swine has been serving up slow eats and craft brews to foodies since their official opening in June, and they're about to take their edible options to the next level.
On August 15, they're hosting the first Made in Dade beer dinner celebrating locally made brews and founder Jorge Ramos' birthday. The suds supper will match hand-picked pints from the likes of Miami Brewing Company and Most Wanted Brewery with special menu items for the occasion.

The beer dinners are a tradition Ramos imported from his former spot.
"We have been doing beers dinners since the start of our last restaurant over three years ago. It's something that I really enjoy doing and pushes me to learn more about food and to be creative with it," he said.
"What we do is take a look at the flavor profile of the beer, see what hops are being used and what flavors stand out in it. We try to use those citrus, coffee, or caramel notes and expand on them with our food."
The dinner will include a full five courses, plus an amuse bouche to prep the palate. Beers will be sourced from Miami Brewing Company, Wynwood Brewing Company, Most Wanted, Gravity Brewlab, J Wakefield Brewing and home brewer Robert Billany.
The menu details are still being worked out, but are likely to be along the following lines: Miami Brewing Company's Shark Attack paired with a fried green tomato topped with braised duck and a fried quail egg with a mango-carrot broth; Most Wanted's Blue Monster paired with a johnny cake topped with seared foie gras, crispy pork belly and fermented blueberries; and Wynwood Brewing Company's American IPA paired with spicy Cioppino with a spicy tomato-saffron broth of crab, clams, scallops and shrimp.
"Besides hosting special beer dinners like this on what we hope to be a monthly occurrence, we plan on implementing a chef tasting menu paired with a flight of beers we currently have available," Ramos adds.
Tickets to the beer dinner run $60 per person and a 50% deposit is due at the time of reservation. Visit their website or call 305-397-8678.
