If you plan on becoming a rock star one day, you need a few things: tattoos, a drug history, and whatever happens, get rid of the clarinet. Northern Cali quartet Papa Roach did all of the above, and the outcome was a multiplatinum career. Roach clips will be plentiful when the band comes to play at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 31 at Revolution. Tickets range from $19 to $22, and go on sale at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 26.

Miami's Latin Alternative crowd is a hungry beast, devouring any act, from the vaunted Spam Allstars to Suenalo Sound System, that knows how to mix a little salsa into their funk. Maybe that's why ska newcomer Skampida has already landed a weekly gig just weeks after arriving here from its native Colombia, and at the same place that helped turn the above bands into local heroes. Check out the new breed at 10:00 p.m. Tuesdays at Jazid.

For the past four years, Edison Farrow has taken his weekly Martini Nights event to several clubs around the city, taking the cream of Miami's gay scene with him. But the latest edition should be something of a special night: not only is it the club's anniversary, but there's a Adidas fashion show, the sounds of DJ Jody McDonald, and the illustrious presence of Pandora, Justice Devine, and Victoria Sky. The party begins at 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 1 at Pawn Shop Lounge.
