The Party Crasher - Trick Daddy Rocks Santo

Miami Live on Wednesday nights at Santo could be compared to one of those underground hip-hop clubs in the movies, only with less drama and more bubbly. On Wednesday, December 5, local scenesters Michael Madd and Abebe Lewis hosted the weeknight gig, as usual, kicking off the evening around 10 p.m., treating ladies to complimentary dinner and cocktails with featured ingredient, Midori. Sipping Midori Sparkles (champagne with a splash of the sweetness), the crowd filled the restaurant space for an extended cocktail hour before being escorted into the club. At the Bad Boy Entertainment-themed Miami Live, the head honcho and big time producer Bryan-Michael Cox came out to celebrate his birthday and did a six-song set of some of his top produced jams, including Usher’s “You Got It Bad” and Mary J.’s “Be Without You.” Ludacris came out, pumping out dance moves for more than an hour and Mario Winans was on hand to enjoy the action as well. Trick Daddy Dollars was in the house, makin’ love to the crowd through the mic with his mix of “In The Air Tonight,” accompanied by extra sexy riffs and beats by the in-house band. A tough act to follow, Smoke from Field Mob rushed the stage with a freestyle about ladies who love ladies, which incidentally had two ladies lovin’ each other right on the Miami Live stage. The crowd was wild, showing love and appreciation for good company, bubbly and, of course, live music. The only thing that could have made the night more interesting was if those two girls got to sloppy seconds, but I guess there’s always next Wednesday. -- Tracy Block
