An early-morning shooting down the street from Little Haiti's iconic punk-rock dive bar, Churchill's Pub, has left one person dead and another recovering in the hospital. The incident happened around 3:30 this morning, and police so far have released few details. Updated.

Churchill's owner Dave Daniels says he was brushing his teeth when he heard the shooting from his apartment behind the bar. He says it happened about 20 yards down Northeast 55th Street from Churchill's long after it had closed. "None of the people involved had anything to do with the club,. Neither the shooter or the person who was shot."

Local 10 reported It was unclear if those involved were neighborhood residents. One person died on the scene, and another was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital and is recovering.

Police arrested one suspect outside the club and are searching for several people who might have information.
