Well, this is Florida. It only makes sense when it doesn't make sense.
Yes, Fernando Caignet Aguilera, 64, was cited after he trapped a four-foot gator and then took it to a store in Allapattah in hopes of trading it for beer.
The incident happened on December 10 after Pino found the gator in a park. He then took it to the Santa Maria Market at 3200 NW 12th Ave. to try and complete the trade. The clerk was not in a bartering mood and instead called authorities.
Aguilera was then cited with capturing and trying to sell an alligator.
The animal was said to be in good shape and released back into the wild.
